FAQ
PILATES FAQS
I’ve never done Pilates. Should I start with mat classes or apparatus?
It doesn’t matter. The style in which we teach Pilates at our studio is very self explanatory. Modifications are provided for more support or more challenge…all in one class. Regardless, you will never feel like the “new kid” here.
I am recovering from surgery and was told Pilates would help me.
Is Pilates like physical therapy?
A good Pilates instructor, while NOT a medical provider, will have the expertise to address anomalies and issues, modify when necessary, and support your body in restoring healthy function.
How often should I do Pilates?
3 x week is ideal, but even 1 x week provides benefits.
How much does it cost?
A $100 Intro Combo is offered to new clients, 4 additional “All Inclusive”
packages are available.
POLE DANCING for FITNESS FAQS
I’m really out of shape. Do you think I will be able to do this?
Well, you’re going to get BACK in shape if you continue with Pole Dancing and simply know that you will never be forced to perform a move or exercise that feels compromising to your body. No worries.
My mom wants to take the class with me…she has some low back & knee issues.
Will she be o.k.?
With physical issues there will always be the specific moves that simply must be avoided, however, we will always provide alternatives when needed to keep you safe.
I’m really shy and don’t think I’ll like doing this in front of others.
Class energy is high and playful. Everyone is simply doing their best to perform themselves – so they are not watching each other, instead they blend into just a tangle of ‘gurlfrenz’ each doin’ their thang.
What if I can’t make one of the classes? How will I make it up?
Sign up for classes you CAN make and don’t sign up for those you cannot. Just make sure to give 24 hour cancellation notice, otherwise you will be charged for any spot you have reserved in a class.
I’ve been wanting to do this for so long – I really want to do an inversion! Are we going to get to learn inversions and the trick stuff that looks so cool?
We are adamant that the focus MUST be on the PROCESS not some final goal of being upside down on the pole. Be PATIENT. “Tricks” can be learned in time, but do not be surprised if it takes a few years to do a well executed inversion.
What’s the age limit?
We’ve had women from 18 to 80 years old. 17 years or under are ONLY permitted with their mother’s mutual participation and parental permission.
What if I don’t like it? Is there a way I can come try it out…or observe?
We do not consent to being observed. If you are ambivalent, purchase a private session for $55.
Where do I park?
There is meter parking all around; 4th Ave. State Ave, Cherry and Jefferson. After 5pm at night parking is free and you can also park in the gravel parking lot just past our studio.
So how much does it COST?
$100 (+tx) for the Tuesdays Intro to Pole Class. After your initial 4 classes, you are eligible for the On-Going rates ranging from $7 to $22 per class depending on size of pkg purchased.
